HOME: What We Do

We are DESIGN STUDIO 80. As 3D architects, we specialise in photorealistic architectural visualisation, 3D rendering, interior, exterior & property rendering services across the UK, including London, Manchester, and Birmingham. Our team utilises your plans to provide high-quality visualisation and design services. Specialising in Architecture, we also craft our services to a variety of industries. View our portfolio of projects here.

We bring the ideas of architects', homeowners’ & property developers to life. We utilise plans, drawings, sketches, illustrations, mood images and other reference materials to create photorealistic 3D architectural images or animations of proposed buildings and developments.

We are both creative and technically minded. We use our skillset to model prospective buildings
which span from small cabins in the wood to estate properties and very large corporate buildings.

A BIT OF HISTORY

Although CGI stands for several things, essentially it means Computer-generated imagery. We have key expertise in architectural rendering, visualisations, and property, interior & exterior CGIs.

CGI is one of many tools used by talented artists and filmmakers to help tell stories better. CGI is not created by pressing a magic button. It is the result of careful thinking, design, experimentation, 3D architectural rendering, and pure creativity of the artist. CGI will evoke surprise and awe because it will bring the audience deeper into the story. Let's quickly clarify the difference between CGI and computer animation. CGI includes static scenes and moving images, while computer animation only refers to moving images. The history of CGI can be traced back to the 1950s when mechanical computers were reused to create patterns on animated cells, which were then incorporated into feature films.

Our architectural visualisation team has years of expertise in developing various CGIs. We bring projects to life through our rendering services across the UK, including Birmingham & London. Find out more about our CGIs here.

The evolution and integration of CGIs and digital film production has included many innovations and new solutions to meet creative challenges. CGI is a liberating tool that can amplify stories and show us all the new worlds. By looking back at the past... we can learn from giants and break new ground in the future.

MARKETING

CGI technology is often used to provide developed virtual representations as part of a marketing strategy. CGI images and animations are often used as advertising methods, such as on the fence around the website, or as part of online videos and brochures. If some parts of the project are commercially available, such as residential or retail spaces, these animations are usually an important aspect of communication with related parties.

DESIGN STAGE

We are 3D architects. In the design stage, 3D architectural renderings can be used to illustrate the appearance of the project to the client. This can take the form of static "photographic" images, interactive images that customers can ask about, or architectural animations. From the architectural visualisation, the purpose is to help stakeholders who may not have experience in interpreting 2D drawings to understand the look, feel, and relationship of the project to the surrounding environment. Precisely zoomed images, realistic 3D images, and the use of virtual reality for “rehearsals” also help designers to understand the meaning of certain solutions or choices. For example, the appearance of natural light at different times of the day, or whether the space will be appropriate.
